The country has gone green and everyone is focused on helping the environment – now it’s time for you to do your part! Here are a few tips to help conserve water and save a few bucks at the same time (courtesy of Phoenix Water Services).
Tips for the Kitchen
- If your sink is equipped with one, use the sprayer to do your dishes and don’t leave the water running continuously
- Load the dishwasher to capacity. There is no sense in running a dishwasher with only 5 dishes in it.
Tips for the Bathroom
- Report any malfunctioning toilets to your property manager. Toilets are the most wasteful when it comes to water
- The toilet is not a trash can. There is no need to flush your tissues down the toilet. You are only wasting water.
- Try not to take long showers. Aim for five to ten minute showers
- Don’t leave the water running when washing your face or brushing your teeth.
Tips for Laundry
- Make sure to take advantage of the partial load setting on your washer if you are not doing a full load of laundry.
General Tips
- Report all leaks to property management. Even the smallest leak can lead to huge water waste.
